Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
The much-anticipated global debut of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is here, following a tantalizing tease. Unveiled at EICMA 2023, it shares the stage with the brand’s inaugural electric mobility venture, the Himalayan Electric.
Specifications
Distinguishing itself from the soon-to-be-phased-out Himalayan 411, the Himalayan 450 raises the bar on every front. Featuring a groundbreaking 450cc, single-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling—a Royal Enfield first—it pairs with a six-speed gearbox equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, generating an impressive 40bhp and 40Nm. Weighing in at 196kg, it boasts a capacious 17-litre fuel tank. Notably, the seat height is crafted for accessibility at 825mm, with the flexibility for significant adjustments.
TFT Color display
The standout feature is the circular TFT color screen seamlessly integrated with Google Maps, providing an expansive navigational view. This smart screen syncs with smartphones, offering a blend of analogue and digital themes for a dynamic user experience, including access to calls, notifications, and SMS.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450’s pricing announcement later this month. Bookings have kicked off on the official website, and expectations are set around Rs 2.60 lakh, ex-showroom. The bike will be available in three variants—Base, Pass, and Summit—and two themes—Adventure and Rally, positioning it as a robust competitor to the KTM 390 Adventure in the market.
